At Blue Robotics, we enable the field of marine robotics with affordable components and systems. What does this really mean? We design cool tech for use underwater that enables tons of people and organizations to pursue their audacious dreams of exploring and learning about our oceans and waterways. Our community is out there doin’ things – they’re mapping Hawaii’s sickest surf breaks, exploring shipwrecks that have long been forgotten, and building bots that are solving complex world problems.

We’re looking for a human to help to build and maintain our website, which is where 100% of our business happens, so it’s VERY important! Our products are technical and our website needs to match that energy - every product detail lives on our site and like our technology, should be easily accessible. Our website is one of our key differentiators in the industry - there simply does not exist a one-stop-shop for marine robotics, and we’ve got big dreams to evolve it even further. For example, we want to make a 3D configurator for our flagship product, the BlueROV2 (can you do that?? 😛)  

You should be obsessed with fast, clean, organized websites and be excited to be the owner of one of our company’s most valuable assets. We need someone who is not afraid to tackle urgent problems (like that one time we had XXX malware ads coexisting with our how-to guides 🫠) 

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Web Developer to join our team and manage bluerobotics.com. The ideal candidate will have experience with WooCommerce, WordPress, and more, maybe even the ambition to build something better from the ground up. You will be responsible for website maintenance, performance optimization, and developing new features to enhance the user experience, and eventually an entirely new website.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the Blue Robotics website using WordPress and WooCommerce
• Implement custom themes and plugins to optimize performance and design
• Ensure site security, uptime, and fast loading times
• Collaborate with designers to translate mockups into functional web pages
• Troubleshoot technical issues and bugs

Requirements:

• Proficiency in WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of SEO and web performance optimization
• Fluent in English
• Based in Brazil (like most of our software team)
